This is a Church of England Voluntary Aided (V.A.) Primary School. The Priest-in-Charge is an ex-officio governor and regularly leads collective worship. An ‘Open the Book’ team visits weekly. The school became a full Primary School in September 2016, to cater for the towns growing population. A new purpose built school building is under construction at Exeter Gate. It is scheduled to be completed by April 2017, in time for the start of the summer term.
On February 11th 2015, the school had a SIAMS inspection. This is the inspection of Church Schools. The school was judged as good overall and good in each of the four areas:
1) The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is good at meeting the needs of all learners
2) The impact of collective worship on the school community is good
3) The effectiveness of the religious education is good
4) The effectiveness of the leadership and management of the school as a church school is good
