GIVING TO THE CHURCH
YOUR SUPPORT COUNTS
The Church of St. Mary Magdalene offers a Christian presence in South Molton, seeking to be at the heart of our town, serving our community; sharing our faith and values; worshipping together. Our wonderful building is the focus of many major events in people's lives, be it births (baptisms), marriages, or deaths (funerals). This valuable contribution to our community has a cost, which must be largely met by personal donations. We receive no regular funding from the Government or the Church of England towards maintaining, or restoring the building.
For the Church to survive and grow, we rely on regular donations so that we can plan confidently for the future.
N.B. If sending a cheque please make it payable to 'South Molton P.C.C.'

We belong to the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS). They are an independent charity with a mission to enhance the generosity that enriches the life of the Church and its ministry in each community. They ease the administrative burden for churches, while empowering all generations to give with confidence and to feel valued.
They operate a secure and effective service for individuals to make one-off gifts to their church, or to manage regular giving by Direct Debit donations . The scheme has been adopted by the majority of dioceses in the Church of England and many of their parishes, and take-up continues to grow each year.

PROTECT THE CHURCH
We have a designated fabric fund, known as 'Protect The Church'. This has the stated purpose of making future improvements to enhance the building for church and community use, and for the purpose of maintaining the important heritage of the church fabric
Taking care of our church building is an integral part of the administration of our church. One cannot be achieved without the other. As such we would ask anyone wishing to preserve the building to give to our general fund as above.
However we are aware there are some who care for St. Mary Magdalene as a building and who may, for whatever reason, only wish their gift to go towards that building. Should you want to direct your gift towards 'Protect The Church' you can do so via : Stewardship for 'Protect The Church' N.B. If sending a cheque please make it payable to 'South Molton P.C.C.'
The 'Friends of South Molton Parish Church' provides another means by which you could support the church. Please see our 'Friends' page for further details. |
Remembering the Church in your Will is a wonderful way both to thank God for the blessings you have received, and to help the Church meet the needs of future generations. Please go to the Church Legacy website for more information.
